Last night, in the midst of crises both abroad and here at home, President Biden delivered an address.
His words were comforting, compassionate & clear. With empathy and clarity, in soothing, deliberate tones, he appealed to our collective humanity. He called upon us to rise above the divisive politcal vitriol, to reject hate, to repel bigotry and to renounce violence.
His address was not political.
It was a plea to the good in each of us.
He implored us to harness decency during times of duress, not to sow division.
Every single utterance was an honest and authentic reflection of the heart and the hopes of a man who has known the depths of all-consuming despair, encouraging us to forsake revenge, and to unite behind what connects us to one another instead of letting our differences tear us apart.
His address served as a beacon of hope during these undeniably dark and uncertain times. Careful to acknowledge the solace and suffering while clearly stating a pathway towards moving forward.
It was a call to come together. To help one another.
The hope is healing a wounded, tattered world, by starting within ourselves. Our own capacity for kindness, forgiveness and love.
He summoned his own faith, and his personal journey through pain, and he spoke to a nation and a world with the tender-hearted yet tough truth of who he is.
And in so doing, he calmed a troubled nation and reassured a worried world.
He is the leader we need right now. A time-tested and trusted statesman with goodness in his soul, guiding us all through these truly unprecedented times.
That just brought tears to my eyes. I feel so unbelievably grateful that Joseph Biden is our president right now. At a time when to just give in to despair would be so easy, One cannot look at this man and be so self indulgent. I may be old, and I may be broken, but dammit I'll fight for HIM!
Yeah well said Jo Jo and I’m now a Debbie because I agree with them. 👆So grateful to have Biden... I wish the MSM wasn’t so obsessed with both sidesing and a 2024 horse race. The loud liars and disinformers are sucking up the oxygen.
