JoJo, you have absolutely topped yourself by adding in the British slang!! OMG, if I couldn't love you more!

And yes, Piers is a wanker, and always has been a fecking tosser ever since his Daily Mail days, don't expect his colors to ever change.

Fuck yeah, Jojo. Here's the thing...after I was lost, I spent so much time alone. In my apartment. Doing woodworking projects. And I made the decision to live out loud. My next date, after a year of woodworking, was a kind, intelligent, funny man . And I was my genuine self on the longest date of my life. I (almost) started a riot at the bar because the VISITING team, that just beat us, was being obnoxious, and a bag of dicks. So, yes, I voiced my opinion that they go the fuck home...back to their state. Onward to the dive music club where my friend's band was playing. Had a blast. Then onto the final destination, where everyone on a first date ended up. He bought me a dolphin balloon. That balloon stayed in my apartment for six weeks. After a week, kinda thought this was the guy for me. So, I told him my history. All of my shitty history. And, he stuck around. We've been married over thirty plus years. The best things happen when you actually ARE who you are. So, again, FUCK YEAH. PM is a wanker. PS...when we met, he was a republican. Now, he sees the light.

Hell YES! Women are bold, strong, fierce, loyal, and we DON’T have to behave, be sweet, be quiet!

I LOVE how you tell it like it is! BRAVA!

We are damn proud to be American Girls!

I’m an Air Force veteran and proud to have served my country. The other day I parked in the designated Veteran parking spot at my local Lowe’s. As I was walking towards the store a loud man’s voice said Hey you can’t park there! I turned around and asked Are you talking to me? He repeated You can’t park there. I responded Yes I can. I served in the Air Force for 9 years. I’m an Honorably discharged veteran. To which he said No you’re not! I just kept waking towards the store entrance as he continued to basically call me a liar. WTAF?

I AM AN AMERICAN GIRL!

Sorry you were so badly treated. What a complete fucking A-hole that guy was. That sort of trumphuk — my word for it and him — is why this country is soooo fucked up. On to better things and better days.

I was always taught that God did not put me here for everyone to like-so if someone doesn’t like then Fuck them and I don’t spend 1more functioning brain cell on them! I am nearing 70 and have lived my life by that rule.

JoJo, you're a constant source of inspiration to me. Your guts and grit should be available for intravenous for every patriot who is still tottering on the brink of "what are we going to do?" There's a framework we just need materials to build on it. I'm more than ready.

Thank you Jo!! I SO needed to see this today. I'm so sorry you had to go through that with Piers. What a jerk!! Glad you stood up to him. I never cared for him. Arrogant and entitled is being too nice.

You'll never know how much your words meant to me today!! I truly was ready to give up. As a Political Activist in Red Indiana with a MAGA Mother I have to care for 4-5 days a week I get so damn discouraged. Then I found out today everything they're doing to Social Security so now I've got THAT worry on top of everything else. Just didn't know if I had any fight left in me. I've been fighting since 2008 and I'm worn out. But thanks to you and many others on here I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. You ARE one of my Heroes. Thanks so much for your eloquent and spunky writing!! I'm sitting here crying like a baby. God Bless you JoJo!! You're beautiful inside and out!!! ❤️🇺🇸💙

Jo, you're one fantastic loudmouthed brat! Never stop being you .

I was reading this column, and enjoying the hell out of it, then, wham.

When you wrote the line about your 'hurricane' daughter, followed by "She's an American girl", tears came to my eyes.

This old guy has your back.

JoJo, I admire you so much. My wife and I created a daughter much like you. We supported her tomboy ways, nurtured her intelligence, aimed her at school, and turned her loose on the world. She ended up becoming the first Ph.D in the family and a feisty Mama Bear. I wish I could introduce you two. You'd likely be BFFs!

Great to see you realizing you.

As an 80 year “young” male with three older sisters (one sadly deceased) I saw how they struggled to realize themselves despite the generally rigged deck. My parents were unusual in that they never told any of us what we couldn’t or shouldn’t do — but also they had more difficulties providing guidance to my sisters than me or my twin brother. I think the main problem is the outside world had created these “expectations” for them as women and none of my sisters fit into those. Of course we grew up in Berkeley California the 50s and 60s so expectations they were a changin’!

Carry on with your realization of you!

Brilliant thoughts, feelings, and writing. I was luckier--as long as my chores were done and I minded my manners, I had utter freedom from the time I was small until I left my parents' house. They expected me to define myself. If I had to answer Piers' idiotic question, all I can think of is I am myself. Categorization of humans is for the intellectually lazy. Good for you and for your family 🥰

Thank you once again for such enlightened writing. Ok, as an older man, I’m still learning when to shut-the-fuck-up, but I’m getting there. And I’m proud as punch of my fire breathing daughter! Wishing you peace on IWD.

Not for me to say what an American woman should be, but I kinda think many younger women would benefit from hearing your story.

Let me recommend you take a look at the book Formidable by Elisabeth Griffith, which is a well written history of the past century of American women. Betsy Griffith graduated from Wellesley College in the same class as Hillary Clinton, and served as a headmistress of a notable girls chool in DC. She for a while was a leader of prochoice Republican woman (her husband was a consultant for Gerald Ford) but has long since left the GOP. You could get a lot of useful stuff from her, but I'll bet she'd learn a thing or 2 from you, too. Betsy also writes a regular newsletter called PinkThreads every 2 or 3 days that only takes a couple minutes to read but could give you some good ideas with which to run.

I know this will piss some people off but the answer to what it means to be a woman is simple. We are better than men. We endure more, we empathize more, we have a higher EQ - we are mothers for a reason. All these men need to be spanked and most of them crave it.
