It is now being reported, in a bombshell New York Times article by Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman, that members of the Trump White House gathered in the Situation Room to discuss how they were going to coverup Trump’s Epstein scandal.
We're in for some rough times, rougher than now, starting in about a month, maybe early August, when strategic oil reserves start hitting their operational minimum around the world. We're going to see an oil shock hit, especially in non-oil producing countries, as oil prices spike, causing spikes in gas, diesel, jet fuel, and, home utility bills. Everything we depend on runs on diesel, from the trucks that transport all of our goods around the country, to the farm machinery that's used to plant and harvest crops, and to the tankers that transport goods around the world. It's well within the realm of possibility that smaller companies find it better financially to stop operating, as the cost of fuel will be simply just too high. The same can be said for tankers and jets used to bring in goods to the USA. We'll see many more flights cancelled as travelers will be unwilling to pay the high cost of airline tickets as jet fuel prices spike. We'll also see a contraction in supply chain capabilities as the smaller companies stop operating, leading to increased prices everywhere, above what the oil shock will create, emptier shelves, some goods just disappearing, and an increase in unemployment. It's going to get ugly.
Even if Hormuz opened up completely right now, it would take weeks to months to untangle the tanker mess that's clogging things up there right now. Even after that's cleared up, the damage to the Gulf states' infrastructure will take up to three years to repair, so oil flow won't get to pre-war levels until that happens. We can expect to see high prices for at least two years, and that's only if Hormuz opened today.
There are scenarios worse than this, too, but as it is, this is the minimum of what we can expect. Fun times!!!
