Here in New Jersey we have a Trump wannabe Jack Ciattarelli,a Republican politician and businessman, currently running for governor in the 2025 election. Taking his cue from his big supporter Trump, he improperly obtained and then released an unredacted version of his Dem opponent Mikey Sherrill’s Naval Service record. This information included her address, SSN, insurance info etc. Having behaved in a reprehensible manner, he then had the chutzpah to make a big deal out of Sherrill’s refusing to rat out her fellow Naval Academy midshipmen involved in a cheating scandal (that she was NOT involved in). Having never served in uniform, he would not understand that she was following a long Naval tradition that you always have your fellow officers’ backs. I think this episode says more about what kind of governor Cittarelli would make than it does about Sherrill’s character. She went on to a long unblemished Naval career as a helicopter pilot while he tossed ethics and morality aside in an attempt to achieve power (sound like anyone you know?). This issue needs your touch if we are to avoid a catastrophe in NJ.
