Beautiful and powerful words today. Happy Birthday to your daughter!!! As the father of three daughters, now 43, turning 41 on Friday and 38, I truly loved this post from you. So proud to be a “girl dad.” Keep fighting, JoJo, for your 12 year old, for you, for my girls, and really for all of us. Thank you!!!!

We love the two faces of JoJo. The gentle, dedicated, nurturing mom who had to create a roadmap for rearing children she never received from her mom; and that ferocious, edgy, direct, pointed, informed, pundit who spells out the horror we are going through now which is a threat to us, our children and grandchildren. Don’t stop JoJo.

The love flows 2 ways. 💖

I am 77 years old this year. I have seen The Kennedy assassination, Vietnam, Civil Rights, Nixon/Watergate, OPEC Oil Embargo, Reaganomics, the Lebanon Barracks Bombing, Granada, Iran-Contra, sky high inflation, the birth of the internet, the first gulf war, Clinton’s blowjob, the dot.com bubble, 9/11, the fraudulent Iraqi War, the invasion of Afghanistan, the election of Obama, the housing crisis and aftermath, the passage of the ACA, The Tea Party, Trump’s disastrous first term, child separation, COVID-19, Trump’s lies and election denial, Jan 6, the Biden Presidency and economy (oh yeah), trampling of women’s right, and now? This fucking dumpster fire!

But through all these years, I have held out hope for our kids. Your essay today is exactly what I needed to renew my strength to continue the fight! SEMPER FI, JoJo and thank you.

RESIST!

Truly powerful writing Jo. You remind me of my children’s mother, who passed away a decade ago, after a lifetime of both of us fighting for the very issues you are now having to fight for again due to the slippery slope of fascism. But my daughter is a fiery ball of positiveness now, and keeps on fighting!

Good on ya Jo, and happy birthday to your daughter. Tx

I see a ramp going up to the building. You are there holding the sign that says “This Way!” I laugh because you have never said just two words, ever. You lead with your right fist followed by a left uppercut. Your energy is contagious and carries a throng to the ramp toward the justice building.

I wish your daughter a very Happy Birthday know that with you by her side she will enjoy her very special day. Thanks again for finding another appropriate musical selection to cap it all off.

Thank you! As the father to 3 grown women, I always felt like I was always defending the fort aginst people who wanted to conform them some standard. They are all entrepreneurs and women of grace and love for their young children and humanity....

Don't let up on the battle!

Your words stopped me and resonated deeply inside. This is everything I would share with her. She is my light. My reason for being. My reason to never stop fighting. Not just for womens rights but for everyone and everything. She is almost 30 now and I couldn’t be more proud to call her my daughter. She is not mine but I am beyond grateful that she chose me to be her mom. I’m in tears thinking about her love, kindness, and care.

Happy birthday 🎈🎉🎂 to your daughter.

Happy birthday to Hurricane🎂🎂🎂.

Our children are our future...my son will be 36 in November. He may not be a Rhodes Scholar but he's still my son and takes responsibility for his actions. Fuck him over and you fuck me over which is a bad thing to do.

My sons are in their late

40s and 50s and have never had to deal with the disadvantages that women face every day. Thank you for your articulate and resolute defense of your daughter.
