The arrogance of the regime and its lack of connection to the reality of day to day life of the non oligarchs in the US is stunning. They don't even try to connect the dots. They don't know that the MAGA WHITE babies they want won't magically materialize because they have put an economic matrix in place that renders their creation impossible.

I was 49 years old at the time and he actually had the nerve to admonish me to smile right after a routine mammogram revealed a lump that turned out to be breast cancer. I never went back to him—and I never forgot what a jerk he was.

I will be 75 on my birthday this year and I have a brand new great granddaughter. I want her to learn empathy, caring, and kindness and to feel that from others.
I am a little over 5 years younger than Donald Trump but I was treated with caring and kindness. I lived through the Cold War and saw what made Trump who he is and the GOP (Greed Over People) what it is today. Nearly 100 years ago the US economy crashed. Being rich wasn't necessarily a lifeline. The Great Depression was not great at all. Many people suffered horribly and some didn't make it. But out of the ruins came a more fair and stronger America.
I hope that history will be on our side this time also.
Birth rates are falling below replacement all over the world, except Africa and Afghanistan. Mexico like most of Latin America has a birth rate of 1.8 babies per woman, 2.1 births per woman is needed to maintain population size. Lot's of factors influence births. The ability to choose pregnancy is one factor. Vietnam has more than doubled its population since we left in 1975. Afghanistan as mentioned is having the same post USA reaction.
Jo's point that there's more to infants than their arrival is essential in understanding what's going on with women's opportunity and options.
