Republicans are protecting our kids from seahorses but guns… not so much.

Republicans & their “parents rights” bullshit.

In 2021, a group of conservatives thought that a children’s book with an illustration of hugging sea horses was too steamy for kids and should be banned from elementary schools in Williamson County, Tennessee.

“They twist their tails together and twirl gently around, changing color until they match. ... The two of them dance until sunset and then she puts her eggs into his pouch.”

Apparently, for Ma & Pa Book Banner, that sexy passage was a bridge too far for kids. So they moved to have it banned.

That sounds pretty Fucking crazy, doesn’t it? But it’s true. They also tried to ban a book about hurricanes for being “too scary” and a boo about MLK for being “too divisive” for young kids to understand.

Bans like these are happening all over MAGAland. And it’s not just books of course. Governors in red states are also banning drag shows. All under the guise of “protecting kids”.

Protecting kids from seahorses hugging? Protecting kids from a book about hurricanes? Protecting kids from a drag Queen reading a book? They’re very, very busy ‘protecting kids’ from all manner of things - from the “woke mind virus” they’re being “indoctrinated” with, to the rainbow flags they’re being forced to look at, to the “furry grooming” that forces them to do their pees pees in litter boxes. They’re ‘protecting white kids from feeling guilty about their whiteness’ while learning accurate American history.

They’re ‘protecting’ them from a whole lotta shit that they made up.
