Peaceful Grateful Thanksgiving Jo! Enjoy your gathering. I just look them in the eyes and silently, with no response whatsoever, think my profane thoughts and pass the gravy.

The eternal question: if a couple gets married in a red state, then moves to Illinois and gets divorced, does it mean they are no longer brother and sister?

😂😂😂

Ah come on. Don’t you want those red states to go blue? And don’t we want Georgia to stay blue? I guess being from the Tarheel state the old stereo type stuff bothers me just a tiny teeny bit. My husbands from Chicago and no one in his extended family knows who their father is, well he does but he’d of been better off not knowing that pos.

Anyway that’s more an old European blue blood thing, that’s why they’re all Hemophiliacs etc etc...jk.

Misdirection toward sports is my go to. I don't argue with the dog and he brings just as much truth.

Thankfully I won’t have to deal with Trumpers at the table.. but your answers are good for dealing with them in every day life too! I’m surrounded by them at work ! Ugh!😐

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! 😊

Me either this year. My daughters in laws moved to the other side of the bay. We went to magianos thanksgiving family special and it was nice. Last year did the same out with my son and his only last year I caught covid. Hope am luckier this year. I said my blessing and everything. No Covid with dinner please. 😫 but it was good for me and hubby. One thing is I need coffee after a meal to prevent indigestion and because turkey makes me sleepy and because I love it and was going to order it with desert. Husband says ah we’ll get some at the Starbucks next door. We get out at 5:15 and Starbucks isn’t open. A big Starbucks in the middle of crowded Santana row. Every time I listen to him...so I’m having a husband sale on Dec 21rst. Come early for free cough drops.

I dunno. I was taught to kill people with kindness but fists and swords work a lot faster.

Although people get mad when I do it that way, I suppose. :p

Hey! Sometimes you got to do what you got to do.

Come on Never Ending Nameless, no need for that. Their comeuppance is right around the corner and we’ll take it back without firing a shot. Or brandishing a sword. Or any of the other things we’d all love to do.

Same here, can’t be that kind but I hold it for a different day as to not ruin the holiday. Ha! When I was first or second grade and came home boo hoo-ing about someone bothering me my mother actually told me to tell them I was going to pray for them! No way I was gonna do that! Maybe I’ll pray sarcastically for them now to their face but...

I was happily relieved when my daughters in-laws invited them, and not us, to thanksgiving dinner. My daughters in-laws, moved from Palo Alto to a place in Sonoma a couple hrs away and have a house in “Mt. Shasta” wink wink nod nod and are the stanchest of supporters of Trump, dedicated anti-vaxxers, Covid deniers, any and everything an ignorant Trump supporter should be and these are wealthy people, the husband a tax expert something or other and his brother has a podcast that makes Alex Jones look like Hello Kitty by comparison. At almost every gathering including them I’ve had to have words with the father in law, holding my voice down ten octaves below where I wanted it, because he will find a way to bring it up. He once called me a sheep in a low conversation voice for getting vaxxed, I let him have it in the same conversation voice so while a few heard us it wasn’t blown up and neither of us wanted to ruin the holiday whatever it was. I answered that while I didn’t identify as a sheep I simply choose to listen to medical experts who knew what they were talking about. This wasn’t the only time and more often than not it’s one of the older grandsons who brings up politics-not supposed to but I alway hold it down the middle without raising my voice or changing my tone. They even tell my ten yr old grandson, a really bright child, that Biden is the reason for their high taxes etc etc and telling him that Biden’s a bad man. When I disagreed he asked if I was telling him that his grandma L was lying I told him that the next time anyone spoke to him about politics he was to nip it and tell them he wasn’t old enough to talk about or hear about any of it. What kind of people try to manipulate a little kid?
