Thanks Jo. So eloquently put and it matches my own feelings at the moment. You actually brought me to tears as well! I, too, love Joe and will always be grateful to him for what he has managed to do! BEST.PRESIDENT.EVER!!!

Way to make me weep, JoJo! But in a good way of course. What a privilege you’ve created for yourself and your legacy by calling out the hypocrisy of the political garbage that the orange baboon is spewing. I bet Scranton Joe was very pleased to know that Jersey’s got his back—still. He’s President until next January, and we can all rally round to make sure a Democratic ticket wins in November!💙

Thank you so much for sharing what the man who is our President has meant to you. I believe that your love for the man will help you handle the loss.

As for me, I am a Never-Trumper first and the way that VP Harris has generated an enthusiasm I never expected to see, tells me it was the right decision. It's the kind of unity I was hoping would arise before the election and, as of today, it appears to have happened.

But, as of today, it has not happened. WTAF?

Thanks, JoJo. I sit here sobbing into my coffee - once again - wondering how you are able to get into my head and speak my truths. I, too, love Joe Biden. I wouldn’t have thought it possible, but I love him more post-Sunday’s announcement. I love him more because he showed me Sunday afternoon that there are still individuals willing to sacrifice their own wishes and desires for the greater good. We, as American citizens, have lost the chance for Joe to continue bringing democracy back from the brink for us and for the world. Kamala will be good. She’s strong. She’s principled. And she’s ready.

Mike Luckovich is my favorite political cartoonist - he did start down here in Atlanta - so it’s fitting that he accurately depicts what Joe’s sacrifice is giving us: a future.

Since I’m older than Joe, he isn’t like a dad to me, but he is like a brother I never had. His caring, empathy, compassion, and integrity have always inspired me to make decisions based on much thought, and a lot of prayer. His steady hand in the tiller of this ship of state has seen us through a pandemic, 4 years of chaos, and hate, and brought us to a lighter, brighter future. I was so saddened by his decision to step aside, to support a woman I know has the best interests of our country at heart. She will only enhance his legacy, since she was chosen by him, everything she does will lead us to more freedoms, not fewer. God bless them both, and thank you with much respect to Joe Biden.

I truly believe that history will be kind to Joe Biden. I think his presidency will reflect important decisions that he made for the good of the people. He will be looked at as someone who was a true public servant. Always putting the people first, rather than himself. Selfless, honest, diplomatic and caring. The epitome of a patriot and leader. His true impact has gone unappreciated. But his legacy will show that he was one of the greatest presidents of our lifetime and one of the best in our nation’s history.

Your love letter to the President and to the upstanding human being that he is speaks to us all who have so much gratitude and respect for Joe Biden. I’m especially grateful that he gets to now receive love and gratitude instead of insipid negative political rhetoric that he’s endured from the ugly maga cult. It’s like receiving a glowing eulogy without having to die first. I love this for him and his family. So genuinely deserved. Beautiful!.

I never thought of President Joe as America's dad, but that does fit. He did rescue us from America's nearly 80 year old trash-talking sandbox bully, and that alone makes his a successful Presidency.

Btw, your own father sounds like an amazing guy, too

I was crying as I read this. I can relate so much to how much it hurts to let Joe go and feeling that he was also like a dad. I’m sharing this all over. Thank you for putting down in words what so many of us feel in our hearts.

Thank you so much for this. I am moved to tears and, also, joy. Meeting President Kennedy when I was 14 changed my life, but having President Biden as my President profoundly changed my life. The good in him touches all of us whether we know it or not. In the 1960s, I marched for justice. Because of President Biden, I continue to fight for justice. His legacy will remain ever present, because we have kids and grandkids who have known him as their President. 😢❤️
