So much to love about this - and the Jimmy Carter who threw a jazz concert on the White House lawn would have enjoyed it too. My favorite part, for now: Hillary’s entrance “looking like a million bucks, all out of fucks.”
Let's not forget the parting gift Carter left Trump that all US flags on government buildings must be flown at half mast for thirty days after a president's death (and naturally some horrid shits in Texas refeuse to do so).
Melania looked like a rejected Amish woman - or a reject from the Handmaid's Tale.
At least we learned that some in the GOP do have some character.
I was appalled by Ombama’s civility. He could have said hello and turned his back on him. It made me angry that a person I have supported against attacks from some POS turns around and is Mr. Jovial with the POS. First Fetterman now Barack?
My understanding of protocol is Michele would have been seated next to Trump. Given her love for Pres. Carter you have to know she drew a line in the sand and I don’t blame her.
Melania looked like she, as usual, didn’t give a shit. You’re at a state funeral you dumbass dress like you mean it and not look like Sally Field’s flying nun hat landed on your shoulders. Disrespectful and embarrassing.
Did you see the interaction between Kamala and Doug after they sat down? She was so upset and he simply looked at her until she turned, saw his smile, returned it saying inside, thank you Babe. No words just love, big sigh. Take that Mr. Convict, you will never know that feeling and paying for it doesn’t count.
And Karen Pence! She was never on my ‘stand by my man’ bingo card and I am impressed. She had bigger balls than the most of the men and I am impressed!
Haven't we seen that most of the Republican women do actually have bigger balls than the men? Not all Republican women but, over the last 4 years I think about Cassidy Hutchinson, Liz Cheney, Karen Pence, the other young woman from the Trump White House.... The young, pretty blonde one... Of course Adama Kinzinger has spoken out also. There are several Republican men who did endorse Harris or denounce Trump but then, also, several big ones caved. It's the women of the Republican party who have shown the most strength imo.
I wish Nikki Haley wouldn't have gone crawling back. She'd have been better off sticking with the resistance. I wasn't really sure how genuine she was the whole time but, I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. Not that I am perfect at judging character... I truly believed Chris Christie when he spoke out. I really believed him & kept waiting for him to make an appearance once again at the end. It's sad that men like Chris Christie, George Bush, Asa Hutchinson, etc couldn't bring themselves to endorse Harris. They could speak out against Trump (or not say anything) but endorsing a Democratic Black woman for president was apparently a step too far.
Exactly. From what I could tell, Barack was quite curt in his reaction to being bothered by the overly chatty person in the pew next to him. He was taking one for Michelle.
Jo. How do you channel and then so perfectly express what that line up did to me? Good for Karen Pence, though I think Barack took one for the team and I remain devoted. I hope Michelle was doing whatever she likes best while this was going on. Bless Jimmy Carter. You tell ‘em. ❤️
We figured Michelle refused to sit next to trump, and by the way they were seated and according to Daily Beast that was her seat. I mean, they have flights from Hawaii, and it wasn't a sudden occurrence right?
Think how nice this country would be if, back 50 years ago when he was bothering some other guy's girlfriend in Studio 54, the guy had pulled out his piece and blown his fucking head off.
Well, JoJo,you may have awakened in a mood this morning, but man oh man, I feel like I've been in a mood for ten years -- all because of that orange encrusted demento. Who knows what Obama and the creature were talking about that made Obama laugh. I just assumed he was very likely laughing AT the decrepit mass of orange flesh sitting next to him more than anything else. More important were the obvious snubs that thing received from the "normal" group of his technical cohorts and first ladies. That alone made my heart sing! Still and all, Carter's funeral was a wonderful send-off. My only hope it that ol' Jimmy will keep us in his thoughts and will work from the other side to help us defeat those who wish to destroy our country, much sooner than later.💗
Love you, JoJo. Somehow you were able to say exactly what I was thinking, and so articulately as well. Thank you for making my day. I'll never stop following you
As always, utterly spot on, Jo. The Sesame Street tune “one of these things doesn’t belong here” (make
It two) was stuck in my head throughout what was a genuinely fitting goodbye. Couldn’t get past Barack’s pleasantries with the garbage heap next to him. All of what you said, like every word!
Beautifully done, and very well said. I do, however, offer an alternative to this "I’m not mad that Obama was friendly, but it irks me all the same. I don’t want to lend one shred of legitimacy to Trump because that will only embolden him to do far worse than he already intends." Mr. Obama is an exceedingly thoughtful man, and it occurs to me that he may well have intended to put the Felon President-elect in the position of having the only person polite to him at the funeral be a black man.
I suggest Tim Snyder's article on the value of a 'shadow cabinet' for one more tool in the arsenal we need to build over the next 12 months so that we can take back the House and Senate in '26. Enjoy your weekend.

The People's Cabinet by Timothy Snyder

Naming a Positive Form of Opposition
Read on Substack

I like to imagine that the orifice was asking Barack's opinion on invading Greenland and Canada. Hence the sideways chuckle.
I suppose that you would have to have some sort of reaction when the posterior orifice spits in your ear for advice. Remembering of course that people are watching. Another Will Smith slap down would have soothed my soul, but alas, it's a funeral, not an awards ceremony, and Barack has far more class and self control than I do.
As judge Merchan was aware that the convicted criminal had just attended the funeral of a past president, he appropriately directed a double entedre at the orange nazi in the final words of his closing orders, "God's Speed."
So sorry I missed the live action of this events, but I can totally see it with your brilliant descriptions! I love what you do and how you do it and respect the hell out of you JoJo!! Keep it coming please!

WTF was on the collar of that schmata? Looked like statue busts or something? She is such a worthless thing.
I thought it was porno. It gave her something to distract her from sitting with the Orange Baboon.
on the surface anyways.

I love Doug so so much.
Doug is the freaking best.

Give Barrack a break, what would you do when the guy next to you asks who’s the funeral for?
Hahahahahahahahahaha
Hahahahahahahahaha
Surprisingly, the orange thing knew he was at a funeral!
He thought he was at a political function; he said he was “chatting with Obama backstage”.
But he couldn't manage to find a subdued tie.
Exactly. From what I could tell, Barack was quite curt in his reaction to being bothered by the overly chatty person in the pew next to him. He was taking one for Michelle.
😂😂😂😂😂
Don’t speak to me? FFF !
Bwaaaaaahahahaha. Okay, THAT was funny!
Jo. How do you channel and then so perfectly express what that line up did to me? Good for Karen Pence, though I think Barack took one for the team and I remain devoted. I hope Michelle was doing whatever she likes best while this was going on. Bless Jimmy Carter. You tell ‘em. ❤️

Why would she do that to herself?
You are on fire with those metaphors this morning, Jo!
Think how nice this country would be if, back 50 years ago when he was bothering some other guy's girlfriend in Studio 54, the guy had pulled out his piece and blown his fucking head off.
Ahhhh if only.....
Gimme a time machine and let’s make it happen, the instant he became a zygote!

Yep, I had to give mother Pence points. That’s how we do it, ignore!!
Stay steely! I like it! We will need to do that in the coming months and years.
Convicted#45 deserved being ignored. Those are the kind of cuts that get under his skin.
Thank you JoJo! This other Jersey Girl eagerly awaits your adjective-laden comments every day! This one is spot on. Enjoy your weekend.
I endorse this entire post! *another Jersey girl :D

Some judgments are harsher that others. No?
